Suicide bombing on the march

One of the ‘commitments’ expressed on the site of the ‘Enough’ coalition - due to march through the streets of London in a fortnight to oppose the ‘Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories’ - is that its members all ‘reject the use of violence in their single or joint actions and uphold the principle of non-violent campaigning.’

Not for the first time, we have reason to doubt whether the Enough coalition is telling the whole - or indeed any part of the - truth here.

Among the organisation signed up to the Enough coalition is the Muslim Association of Britain. MAB counts among its heads the Hamas supporter Azzam Tamimi.

And Mr Tamimi is not simply a terrorist-supporter. He has himself expressed – on the record – the desire to become a terrorist. In a BBC television interview with Tim Sebastian in 2004 he made himself quite plain on the subject:

TIM SEBASTIAN: If it's so wonderful to go and blow yourself up in a public place in Israel why don't you do it?

DR AZZAM AL-TAMIMI: Martyrdom is not necessarily suicide bombings as you call then. Martyrdom is ...

SEBASTIAN: No, please answer my question. It was a serious question.

TAMIMI: I'm trying to answer it ...

SEBASTIAN: Why don't you do it? … Are you prepared to do this or not?

TAMIMI: I am prepared, of course.

[…]

SEBASTIAN: Why if it is so glorious and honourable to do this, why don't you do it?

TAMIMI: I would do it ...

SEBASTIAN: When?

TAMIMI: If I have the opportunity I would do it ...

SEBASTIAN: When are you going to do it?

TAMIMI: When? If I can go to Palestine and sacrifice myself I would do it. Why not?

SEBASTIAN: So what's stopping you?

TAMIMI: I cannot go to Palestine. I cannot go to Palestine.

SEBASTIAN: You simply can't get in?

TAMIMI: No, I cannot get in.

[…]

SEBASTIAN: So this is the reason - the only thing that is holding you back from strapping on a suicide belt is the fact that you can't get back to the Palestinian territories?

TAMIMI: You see sacrificing myself for Palestine is a noble cause. It is the straight way to pleasing my God and I would do it if I had the opportunity.

Enough’s professed distaste for Holocaust-denial is so sincere that it includes funders and supporters of holocaust-denial in its midst. Now it appears that Enough’s belief in non-violence is so deeply felt that they are welcoming into their ranks people like Azzam Tamimi: suicide-bombers-in-waiting.

Y.A.:

Douglas, great work, thanks.

Just now watched Question Time, and agree with your tactics. Arguments in favour of truth are so overwhelming that you even miss to mention some.

Couple of points:

1) To the questoin of "cohesion" - if cohesion with racist (tribalist, terrorist etc.) supporters is desirable?

2) Britain stands for Israel (same civilization), against terrorists that want to destroy her. Period.

3) On "occupation is cause of Iraq's disaster etc." - no it is not. Jihad and the legacy of Middle Eastern fascism are. Germany was occupied for 60 years, and now it is prosperous country.

4) On "you can't solve problems by force" - look at example of Hamas' capture of Gaza, or Iranian occupation of Lebanon by Hezbolla proxy, and that nobody neither protests nor questions legitimacy, when it is about power of clerical fascists.

5) On "bombing Lebanon children" - no sir. No children. Enemy force, Iranian spec-ops brigade, well-camouflaged/entrenched, enforced by anti-tank, field artillery, and middle-range missile units - that what was bombed. And yes Lebanese infrastructure as well, which was a mistake.

6) On Israeli-Palestine, Iraq, Lenbanon etc. conflicts - stable solution only might be found, when Jihadi forces are defeated.

Thanks again, and good luck,
Y.
