I predict a riot

One could imagine the look of fear and horror on the face of the Indian police officer as the Quran, in slow motion, slipped through his sweaty fingers.

A riot soon ensued around the Deabandi Jamia Milia Islamia University in the district of Sahinbagh.

It all started when a market dispute went wrong and a helpless officer dropped a Quran by mistake. He was later slapped by a village elder. However two of his colleagues were left critically injured.

Police official says that at least 40 people, including police officers, were injured in the violence that consumed in the district and its surrounding areas.

The Delhi Police has declared high alert in other minority-dominated areas of Seelampur and Jafarpur.

A Ismail:

I find it amazing how you can blame Muslims for riots in India when Muslims are the recieving end of all Indian riots. Thousands of Muslims have been systematically killed by Hindu extremists since partition. Just in 2002 2,000 muslims were killed and thousands more raped and made homeless in Gujerat while the world was silent.
