Islam is peace.
These words have begun appearing this week on buses, trains and at airports across Britain, courtesy of www.islamispeace.org.uk, a new Muslim non-profit working to improve Islam's image in the eyes of non-Muslims and foster better interfaith relations.
Islamispeace.org.uk campaigner Ifhat Shaheen-Smith, quoted in the Times, blamed "the current atmosphere of suspicion and fear about Islam and British Muslims" for negative stereotypes about Islam Shaheen-Smith says are gaining currency.
“The silent majority of Muslims [in Britain] are coming forward and now challenging the Islamophobia in sections of our media," Muslim Council of Britain Secretary General Abdul Bari told The Times.
Moderate Muslims asserting themselves is good news. But wait a minute - haven't groups like the MCB been noisily challenging Islamophobia for years? How about challenging extremist Islam?
The poster campaign by Islamispeace.org.uk is starting midway through the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, a time for Muslims around the world to reflect on and recommit to their faith.
What a perfect occasion it would be for moderate Muslims to reach out not only to jittery non-Muslims, but also to their less-than-moderate co-religionists - for example, the 36% of 16 to 24-year-old British Muslims who believe that Muslims who convert to another religion should be killed, according to a poll earlier this year.

These people have learned the art of PROPOGANDA well, probably by stydying the master - Goebles himself - who said " if your going to tell a lie - tell a big one and tell it often" "Islam Is peace" - a whopper if ever there was one - Islam was designed from the start to do one thing - conquer the entire world through violence or whatever means, deception , lies , manipulation, that is necessary - this is the true nature of Islam - Islam is war - Islam is deceit - Islam is lies - they are all true NOT Islam is peace

The MCB part of a silent majority and members of jamaat e islami that is the best laugh i have had today!
I follow this unbrella group with great interest.
Under the umbrella we find groups like MAB the muslim brotherhood the spawners of HAMAS and most terrorist groups around today.
Anyone unsure about the MCB checkout MCB watch!
I'm self employed my books are auditted every year otherwise i become like the EU under suspicion, yet the MCB books go without audit with the revenue office appearing to allow this.
Via our taxes Labour hands over many thousands to this umbrella group this makes me think that my taxes are paying for this brainwashing scheme!
Monthly i receive a magazine The Barnabas fund,
Dr Patrick Sookhdeo an ex muslim from the institute for the study of islam and christianity,he travels the world caring for the two million christians that are being persecuted mainly by this peace loving peoples.
Shame that our Gov allows such spin on the other hand they probably taught them the best ways here in the UK.
Islam and peace. out of a 1400 history were at peace for a mere 13 years!

It is wise to judge people by what they do, not what they say.
Around the world, as well as at home, the overwhelming evidence is that now, as historically, Islam is NOT a religion of peace but, rather, a violent brainwashing death cult that should be outlawed in the name of Humanity.

To a non-believer the statement 'Islam is peace' is not true on a literal level (it means submission) or on a figurative level both history and contemporary events make such a statement almost Orwellian in its inaccuracy. To a Muslim, however, the statement is perfectly accurate: the house of war will exist as long as there are regions of the world outside the domination of sharia: when Islam rules everywhere there will be peace. That such an ad is being displayed on London buses identical to one blown apart by Muslim terrorists just over two years ago is tasteless and insulting to the dead.
