On Tuesday 9th October (next week) the great Islamic scholar Ibn Warraq and I will be debating Tariq Ramadan and William Dalrymple at the Intelligence Squared debates in London. The debate has already received quite a lot of attention in the press.
A number of readers have written in complaining that they can’t get tickets because the event is sold out, so this is partly to say that the event will be recorded and will be downloadable from the Spectator’s website after the event. Listeners will also be able to vote on the motion.
Meantime – CSC readers and supporters who are interested might like to keep an eye on the link here. From next week I’m starting a tour of campuses in the UK stretching into early next year. Over the coming months I’ll be speaking to student societies and university unions from the south of England to the north of Scotland on a wide-range of CSC-related topics starting with University College London and the issue of Turkish entry into Europe.
If any CSC readers live near the location of any of the talks I hope you’ll turn up, support or boo as the case may be, and perhaps even throw the occasional soft-ball question my way. I look forward to seeing you!

Tariq Ramadan the master of charm and double speak and bbc darling.
He follows his granfather very well, AL-banna the nazi must be so proud how his smoothed tongued off spring fools not only the British establishment but the population as as well.
Ramadan should not even be in the country let alone debating!
The USA won't allow him in The French kicked him out but as usual the UK takes in all the worlds filth.
