Geert Wilders, the Dutch politician, has released 'Fitna', his long-awaited short film about Islam and Europe.
The 15 minute production shows Islamic terrorist attacks interspersed with quotes from the Quran. It also describes the Netherlands as being “under the spell of Islam” and ends by urging Muslims to “tear out the hateful verses” from the book.
As expected, 'Fitna' has provoked a worldwide reaction. So far most of it has been peaceful.
Jamaat-e-Islami, staged a protest outside a Pakistani mosque, demanding that Pakistan cut diplomatic relations with the Netherlands and calling the Dutch “savage and uncivilized.” There have also been protests in Afghanistan and Indonesia.
Iran called the film “heinous” and “indicative of...the evilness and deep vengeance such Western nationals have against Islam and Muslims," while Indonesia said it was “misleading and full of racism.”
European reaction has also been largely unfavourable, with Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende saying the film “serves no other purpose than to cause offence,” while the Danish foreign minister Per Stig Moeller believes 'Fitna' could lead to extremists attacking the majority of Muslims "that want cooperation with the western world."
Wilders, who lives under permanent protection due to his outspoken views on Islam, said the aim of the film was to display the “clear dangers contained in the Qu’ran and Islam.”

Europeans generally regard themselves as cultured and civilised peoples. Often they have a superiority complex so inherent that they fail to even recognise when their behaviour clearly demonstrates such a complex. To the rest of the world however, the Europeans are characterised by Hypocrisy, intolerance, narrow mindedness and double standards. I wish the European people realised how silly and absurd they look to the rest of the world. See link below.
