The jury have been dismissed after failed to reach a verdict in the 7/7 plotters trial.

Leeds residents Waheed Ali, Sadeer Saleem, and Mohammed Shakil admitted to knowing the 7/7 bombers but denied a charge of conspiracy to cause an explosion.

The men will now be remanded in custody until a hearing next month. The CPS are unsure if they will seek a retrial, but are “working from the assumption” that they will.

The prosecution had argued that the men carried out a practice run of the 7/7 attacks during a December 2004 visit to London with Mohammad Siddique Khan, where their movements bore a "striking similarity" to those of the 7 July bombers.

This charge was denied by the accused, who while acknowledging that they had attended terrorist training camps in Pakistan, said they were merely sightseeing in London and that the police were making them guilty by association.

The charge was 'conspiring with the four bombers and others unknown to cause explosions'.
