'Centre for Social Cohesion' Established
Civitas has established the Centre for Social Cohesion, a new and non-partisan think-tank based in Westminster.
This follows widespread and longstanding concern about the diminishing sense of community in Britain amid the problems posed by Islamist fundamentalism. The Centre's work will be a blend of ideas and action. As a think tank it will foster informed public debate, the impartial analysis of social problems, and the distribution of unbiased information. It will also implement educational projects to encourage the successful integration of racial and religious groups into mainstream liberal-democratic society.
Director
The writer and broadcaster Douglas Murray has been appointed Director of the Centre for Social Cohesion. A full-time team of researchers will work with him to produce the Centre's work. David Conway, formerly Senior Research Fellow at Civitas, and author of the recent publication 'A Nation of Immigrants' has been appointed Senior Research Fellow of the new Centre.
